Harrison's Rocks are located in Groombridge, less than ten minutes drive from central Tunbridge Wells. There is ample pay and display parking on site.
Climbing via top ropes or bouldering on Southern Sandstone requires special consideration, given how prone the rock is to erosion. We want to continue to enjoy the beautiful rocks around Tunbridge Wells, whilst preserving them for future generations.
If you’ve climbed outdoors before, but are unsure about any of the techniques for setting up correctly and what gear you need, give the below videos from the BMC (British Mountaineering Council) a watch.

Chimera now offers a Bouldering Pad Hire service. We have four pads available to book online.Pads are hired out for the whole day and should be returned that same evening. Please ring the centre on 01892 457 294, if you would like to extend your booking or if you have any queries.
Bouldering pads will only be hired out in good weather. Please ring the night before the booking if the forecast is for rain, however light or intermittent.
Sandstone can take longer to dry than other types of rock. We are committed to following the Southern Sandstone Code of Practice and bouldering when the rock is wet will lead to further erosion.
When bouldering outdoors on the local sandstone, it is essential to protect the climber appropriately by using bouldering pads.
"Great, nice relaxed atmosphere. My son had a great few hours climbing and the coffee is top notch, not for my son though, he's only 10."
